Love Devon as an instructor and Liz is a wonderful person. I was introduced to this studio by the lessons at the Warehouse Restaurant run by Liz. If you have a chance, take a few lessons and attend the dance socials (super friendly with lessons included). The vibe is indeed amazing.
This is from a “leader” who forgot everything during the pandemic. They are patient and so friendly. Do check the ego as things “I knew” were in need of correction. I’m a little more than a month in and I am progressing at a good pace. I’m not going to be the top dancer after a month, but due to how amazingly friendly the students are (undoubtedly due to the staff), I’m making enough friends to increase the number of dances every night. Did I mention the dance socials are fun? 😉 For admit it, a leader going out has it tough the first few months and Liz and team are certainly helping me.
Liz Lira Dance Academy is awesome!! I have been taking salsa lessons here for about three months now and I could not ask for a more positive experience as a beginner. Each instructor is so kind and supportive while offering his or her own flare and expression to their lessons and I leave every class session feeling like a better dancer. The family type atmosphere that Liz fosters here is perfect for building community and connection through dancing, and an experience I’d recommend to anyone!
Greg and Jacqueline taught me and my husband – two non-dancers – to do a pretty accurate representation of the Dirty Dancing final dance for our wedding! Not only did they teach it to us in weekly lessons, but they also put together the choreography by watching the film, which is quite tricky as it’s often cutting around! It took me a while to write the review as I ended up getting COVID at my wedding, so we didn’t actually PERFORM the dance until our one year anniversary party, but we remembered most of it even a year later. Would highly recommend it!
